I have created an Ai section but would like to use it as a CMS section so I can choose it when I add Content like I do with and Article, Map or Photo.

Hi Richard, good news: what you are after already works, just the other way around.
A section generated with the AI Extension Builder can read the content of your existing CMS sections. Name the section in your prompt ("show the 3 latest articles from my News section", "list the places from my Map section with their address") and the generated section displays that real content, live. You keep adding your articles, photos, places or events exactly as you do today, in their own CMS sections, and your AI section shows them in the layout you described. Nothing to regenerate when you publish: the section reads the content at display time, so a new item appears on its own.
Six content types are supported today: articles, videos, podcasts, photos, places and events, each with its natural fields (an audio player for podcasts, a date and a venue for events, coordinates for places). You can even combine several sections in a single layout, for example the latest article from one section at the top and the latest video from another below. And refining is part of the same conversation: ask for a different grid or an extra button, the connection to your content carries over.
We wrote up the whole thing here, with the exact prompts we used: https://www.goodbarber.com/blog/ai-extension-builder-custom-…
So the AI section is not a new entry in the "add content" list, it is a custom display for the content you already manage in your CMS. If your use case is really about entering content directly into the AI section itself, tell us more and we will look at it.
