While this functionality is great, it does not work as I intended... The Play shortcut should trigger starting the Live Audio playback, not just navigating to the section
Thanks for testing it so quickly. I think I know what happened. There are two different entries in the link manager, and they do not behave the same way: - Picking your Live section from the list of sections = a link to the section. It navigates, which is exactly what you are describing. - Picking "Play Live" from the Action group = it starts the stream and opens the player, with no navigation at all. See the screenshot: "Play Live" sits at the very bottom of the "Type" dropdown, under the Action group (next to Call, Send sms, Send email). You can also type "Play" in the search field to jump straight to it. Once selected, choose which live section to launch if you have several, then save.
Hello, It works on PWA but not IOS or Android, neither in the GB Test App. Does IOS and and Android need to be re-published?
Great, that confirms the action itself is working as intended. Yes, and the same applies to the PWA: every published app needs a new build to pick up the feature, iOS, Android and PWA alike. The only place that reflects changes instantly is the back-office preview. So if it is already live on your PWA, either you have rebuilt it already or you are looking at the preview. Same story for the GoodBarber test app (My GoodBarber): it is a native app too, and the feature was only just released, so it is not in the current build yet. It will be available there with the next update of the test app. Thanks again for testing across platforms, it helps a lot.
Good news: this is live! 🎧 No JavaScript needed anymore. We added a native "Play Live" action to the back-office link manager. You can place it on a button on your Home (or a clickable image, a header shortcut, a menu item...), and a single tap starts your Live Audio stream and opens the player right away, without sending the user into the Live section first. Exactly the "one click, no navigation" flow you described. It works on iOS, Android and PWA, for both Live Audio and Live+ sections. To set it up: rebuild your app with the latest version, then in the link manager pick the "Play Live" action (it appears as soon as your app has a live section) and choose the live to launch.
