Lesia Pietri: Thank you, this is beautiful!! Two related requests: (1) Be able to customize which page GET STARTED lands on and (2) Be able to enable or disable the walkthrough eg. I've installed the extension but I haven't finished building the flow and don't want this to be available to users yet when I apply other updates to my app.
Lesia Pietri: over 50% of paid subscribers subscribe on first launch of an app during a walkthrough like this! PLEASE add the ability to add a button that links to an app page. We’re talking about the difference in thousands of dollars in revenue with this one tiny addition.
SC: Hello! In order to better understand your request I need more context :) Can you give me an example of use case where the walkthrough wouldn't land on the homepage ?
Joshua Adams: Hello! I'm not sure to understand you request here, maybe your need here is to display the paywall at the opening of the apps ? As the request above maybe you can give me more context to better understand.
Lesia Pietri: that’s exactly what I’m requesting. This is a very popular feature among successful paywall apps. Show the paywall once at first launch of the app after downloading, then show the paywall every 5 launches after that.
Joshua Adams: Ok now I understand and it's not the same feature, here we are talking about onboarding screen that's not the same purpose. Please create another idea for this and we will have on it! Again thanks a lot for your feedback!
Lesia Pietri: Lots of examples! Mostly being able to lead straight to a piece of gated content to encourage subscription sales. Or updating that link regularly so it goes to the latest news article or recipe or workout video. Or taking someone to a booking page for a service.
Lesia Pietri: please I need this feature in PWA apps too, currently it is only available in native apps.
SC Hello, ok but like the use case explained by Joshua above, we're not talking about the same functionality here. The purpose of the walkthrough is to onboard your users, which is why it's only displayed at first launch. You're talking more about internal advertising (which already exists https://www.goodbarber.com/extensions/internal-ad-server/) or an enhancement to paywal's behavior (https://goodbarber.canny.io/ideas/p/promote-paywall-on-first…). Thanks for your explanations
Roger Gomes: Hello, this feature is available on mobile so native apps and the PWA mobile.
Lesia Pietri: it doesn't appear for me, I've already created several apps and added the first steps extension, but when accessing the pwa app for the first time it doesn't appear, the native app appears normally. Could you provide the link to a pwa app that appears when you first access it?
Roger Gomes: Hello, here the behavior of the feature, the Walkthrough is only displayed the first time you visit the PWA or open the app. Even if you rebuild your project and update it, if you already navigated in the app you won't see it. To see it in the PWA outside the back office preview I advise you to open it via a private browser tab.
Nice!
How about also showing in-app subscriptions? First launch is when they get highest conversion rates.
I believe you could create a video and keep in a onboarding section.
Excellent idea! Something like 3 slides when the user first downloads the app to act as an 'explainer' / 'how it works'. Many modern apps do this.
Please and yes!
Good idea not only in order to show how the app works, but to let the users agree to legal information, data protection law, use of Google fonts and much more! To users should be able to "agree" to terms and conditions and so on..
Absolutely a good idea with a welcome pop up. This popup should also include a video. Thank you in advance 🙏 All the best Jannik
This exists most of the time in backend. In frontend, it's difficult to have a generator that fits on every app, because they are all different.
Christophe Spinetti: Can you indicate where I could create an boarding process for my users in a content app?
Amanda Dominy: Hi, there is no way to achieve it.
Hello everyone! This feature is now available in content and eCommerce apps! You can now create an integrated tutorial and guide your users through the first launch of your app. We are really excited and looking forward to see it in your apps!
